What's upcycling?
Upcycling is the process of turning ugly and surplus produce, including by-products, into new food products that not only reduce waste, but also create income for producers and support communities.
Why does reducing waste matter?
Food waste is a major source of emissions. When fruit is wasted, it breaks down and produces methane, a gas that speeds up global warming. In Europe, about 30% of fruit is wasted and half of that comes from peel and pulp. We can reduce our impact by using ugly and surplus whole fruit.
How do we fight food waste?
We combat food waste by changing how we see and use food, sourcing only 100% European apples and giving them a second chance when traditional retailers reject them because of size, blemishes or colour.
What makes our upcycled chips sustainable?
Our apple chips help save both apples and the resources used to grow them. To date, we have diverted almost one ton of fruit into sustainable snacks that taste just as good as conventional brands.
Where do we source apples from?
Our apples come from orchards in northern Portugal during the harvest season between August and October.
Why does our apple chips cost more than popular store brands?
We use apples that would normally be sorted out and require extra steps when salvaging and processing them, which can add to the cost per unit for our chips.
How does one order make an impact?
Each purchase saves on average 4 kg of apples, including 3 m³ of water and 1 kilo of CO₂ emissions per 24-pack of chips.
Does our upcycled apple chips have more fiber than other brands?
Yes. They have 16g of fiber per 100g — or 67% more than comparable chips on the market that are often peeled.
Do we offer a money-back guarantee?
Yes. If you don't love our chips, let us know here within 7 days and we will refund your first order. If you would like to share feedback, we would love to hear it.
Where do we ship to?
We offer free shipping in Luxembourg on orders over €30.
We also ship to Belgium, France, Germany, and the Netherlands for €11.40 and Austria, Denmark, Finland, Italy, and Sweden for €15.20.
